Run Java without an operating system
The WebLogic® Server Virtual Edition enables simplified deployment and higher utilization to take virtualization to the next level. Oracle WebLogic Server Virtual Edition allows you to run Oracle WebLogic Server directly on a VMware ESX hypervisor without a standard operating system. WebLogic Server Virtual Edition runs on top of LiquidVM, a light-weight, high-performance virtual machine containing a software layer that directly connects system-level calls from Oracle JRockit® JVM to the VMware ESX hypervisor. No general-purpose operating system (OS) or other processes are running: WLS VE uses a streamlined “Just Enough OS” approach to minimize the impact of virtualization on system performance. |
