VMware

Overview

Deploying Oracle WebLogic applications on VMware Infrastructure drives tangible benefits through the complete software lifecycle from development to high availability. By expediting and simplifying the application development and testing processes customers experience faster time to production while maintaining high quality throughout these processes.

Customers who run their WebLogic applications on VMware Infrastructure have been able to reduce costs and deployment time while providing increased operational efficiencies and accelerated time to market, driving lower TCO and increased ROI.

Oracle WebLogic® Operations Control Demo
Oracle WebLogic Operations Control is an enterprise application virtualization solution that allows for centralized governance and control over Java applications, including dynamic activation and scale-out to meet ever-changing mission-critical business demands.  This video presentation describes key benefits, as well as how to use the product.

LiquidVM VI Client Extension
The LiquidVM VI Client Extension (LVM VICE) is a plug-in to the VMware Infrastructure (VI) Client which seamlessly extends the VI Client’s interface to make LiquidVM a first class citizen.  Using LVM VICE, users can easily create and configure LiquidVM-based virtual machines for any Java application.  This video presentation describes the key benefits, as well as how to use the product.

Virtualization is a Key Enabler for SOA
This demo showcases the use of VMware Infrastructure software in SOA deployments.  Broken down into six scenarios, it can easily be customized for your audience.  Scenarios include: mapping of an SOA deployment to a virtualized environment, a virtualized data center, provisioning a WebLogic Server instance to a WebLogic Server domain, provisioning a WebLogic Server instance to a WebLogic Server cluster, planned downtime for hardware maintenance and unplanned downtime in case of hardware failure.

Application Development with VMware Lab Manager and BEA WebLogic Server
This demo shows the VMware Lab Manager benefits for organization that are building and testing three tier applications based on WebLogic Server.  Showcasing how configurations may be shared between development and testing personnel more easily, making the process of development much more streamlined.  Also showing how the burden of provisioning developer and tester machines may be removed from the IT Support team and made much friendlier to the developers themselves.

Intelligent Automation with VMware and BEA Technologies
Intelligent automation is key to performance improvements in the virtualized datacenter.  It is also the best way to deliver flexible services that help companies respond rapidly to changing business conditions, from short term phenomena such as a surge in demand for the company’s products, to longer term initiatives such as introducing new products to market or post-M&A integration.  This session shows you how you can use VMware and BEA technologies to implement truly dynamic applications architectures that span virtualized and dedicated server platforms, and provide centralized governance and control over Java applications, including dynamic activation and scale-out to meet changing business demands.

Streaming the Software Lifecycle on BEA Platforms with VMware Lab Manager
Virtualizating your BEA platforms produces tangible technical and business benefits.  In this webinar, VMware explains how using VMware Lab Manager in your development environment shortens time to market, increases productivity, and lowers costs.  A BEA spokesperson discusses how Lab Manager has improved development for its own Business Interaction division.

BEA Redefines Virtualized Software Appliances for Java with WebLogic Server Virtual Edition
BEA unveils WebLogic Server - Virtual Edition built on its Liquid Virtual Machine to deliver a solution/solutions that uniquely optimize(s) Java software in a virtualized environment and redefines the OS; this approach delivers significantly improved hardware utilization at a lower TCO.  Virtualization plays a big part within BEA’s “liquid” vision in that the entire strategy is fundamentally about making the relationship between software and hardware more fluid.  This can enable greater flexibility in how applications are deployed and migrated within the data center – from the bottom of the stack all the way through SOA components and services.  BEA’s WebLogic Server-Virtual Edition and Liquid Virtual Machine can help enable business to deploy, scale and migrate software assets rapidly and at lower costs, enabling greater flexibility and adaptability.
