This appliance is a an AJAX based open chatbox, totally webbased. It allows for colorful chatbox activity that can be displayed on a BEAMER to display to everybody what games are being played or what files are begin searched for.

If it's connected to a monitor port on the LAN switch, it will also detect what games are being played all by itself and display a list of them.

You need both files. It's using < 2 gig's so it works w/ Windows Fat32, but tested on Mac as well, etc.
Just unzip, and it will unzip the 2 files into an "vm" you can run.

If you need a Java development environment, w/ Samba, FTP, etc... this is it. This is at least half the regular size.
server/server is the pswd.

You should edit your hosts file to point to this vm.
(ex: ifconfig)

The Sabayon Community Team is happy to announce their first own work, Sabayon Pod 3.5. Sabayon Linux uses Gentoo's Portage system for package management, and all updates and base characteristics are in synchrony with Gentoo's portage tree and other mechanisms. So, users can follow guides and articles written for Gentoo users. But "world updates" are discouraged for beginners or those new to Gentoo, as the structure is a little different and requires a slightly different method of execution. Both Sabayon and Gentoo allow users to install the base system using binary packages, but Sabayon also includes a binary package manager, and is in general more flexible towards the use of pre-compiled packages than Gentoo is.

This is the Fedora 10 AOS (Appliance Operating System) distribution repackaged as a VMWare VM using the virt-convert tool from http://thincrust.net/tooling-conversion.html.

The Fedora 10 AOS spin is a stripped down, minimal Fedora 10 distribution without graphical user interface, intended for small appliances like routers, web servers etc.

I lowered the RAM allocation to 50MB in the end.

After the boot process is complete, please use the full screen mode, or resize the vmware application window to match your needs. The guest X server will change the display settings of the Knoppix 5.3.1 or 5.1.1 window to fit the vmware application window (if the Autofit guest and Resize guest options are enabled in the preferences) How dows it work ? I have setup a knoppix.sh in a virtual hdd decompressing in the Knoppix ramdisk a tgz file including all the vmware tools during the boot process just before the init execution. Thanks the unionfs the vmware tools are "patching" the Knoppix iso with the ramdisk and are then launched by the init process. I use grub as a boot loader in the virtual hdd to load the Knoppix kernel and the minirt_531b.gz or minirt_511d.gz boot ramdisk allowing to change the hostname, patch a couple of bugs and finally boot from the VMware virtual cdrom mounted from the official Knoppix 5.3.1 or 5.1.1 cd or dvd iso. The installed VMware tools allow to use Knoppix 5.3.1 or 5.1.1 as one of the fastest free Xserver I have tried so far. It is actually much faster than cygwin. KnowledgeTree is a web-based document management system that lets you manage, share, and store your team’s documents and images. KnowledgeTree manages Office, PDF, OpenOffice, XML, HTML, RTF, and text documents, as well as JPEG and TIFF images. Its flexible, open source design features centralized administration, distributed access, and version control. The JumpBox for KnowledgeTree lets you deploy this document management system with ease. JumpBox provides very simple to use virtual appliances based around Open Source software. Any JumpBox will run on VMWare as well as Parallels Desktop and Server, Microsoft Virtual PC, Microsoft Virtual Server, Virtual Iron and Xen Open Source. With a JumpBox Open Plus subscription you can also run on Amazon EC2 and the JumpBox Backup System allows you to easily move your installation from a local install to an install anywhere else. A JumpBox requires one quick step of configuration via a web browser with no need to touch a command line. Each JumpBox also includes a simple web based management interface that includes the JumpBox Backup System. The JumpBox Backup System allows you to export the state of the JumpBox to NFS, Windows File Sharing or Amazon S3 (This provides a really easy offsite backup). When you log into the application use the user "admin" with the password you provide during initial setup. The distribution also contains a README.txt file that provides a little more detail about usage. JumpBox appliances are updated on a regular basis with the latest operating system and application fixes.
